The base was seemingly empty, however the inhabitants were in all reality taking some rest off from fighting on the front lines against the invaders. What thing to note was that a Sabre class orbital fighter modified for heavy combat and long flight duration was at the ready in case the base was under threat from space-borne enemies...and this was exactly what Dark Legion desired...
